News and Commentary from the Downtown Phoenix Campus of Arizona State University, founded 2006
Since it opened 27 December 2008, METRO Light Rail has changed how we get from point A to point B in Phoenix. As students of one university in many places, we know that there are times when we have to be on the Downtown Phoenix campus and also on the Tempe campus.
As a commuter student, I have to stay up-to-date on transportation news so I can arrive for classes on time. And it seems appropriate that I share this with you. The Spring 2009 semester marks a change in intercampus commuting. It is my hope that with this information, getting from one campus to another will be as painless as possible.
As I hear things, I'll post them to this blog using the theme "Intercampus Commuting". So far, I have the big changes posted. And as always, let me know if you have questions!

Will ASU continue to run shuttles between Downtown and Tempe once light rail is in service? To do so would seem redundant and wasteful. I can understand running the shuttles now because they make fewer stops than Valley Metro buses, but with light rail the equation changes.
David, it's being planned to cancel the downtown shuttle for spring semester because of Metro. In addition, the poly and west shuttles will be dropping students at the ends of the Metro line instead of going to the Tempe campus.
I've always wondered why they just don't have one shuttle line making stops at all 4 campuses running back and forth, that way service would be much more frequent.
